I was at the Mission for 4 months during the fall of 2019; I was welcomed at Sainte Therese of the Child Jesus Mission like into a family. The Mission is well structured as about 60 Gabonese work there every day in vibrant activity, so our “immersion” was complete. Between the bakery, the carpentry shop, the sewing workshop, the different construction sites, the clinic, the school, the Maria Bambina Orphanage, one can never get bored and there is activities for all taste and skills. As to me, I firstly helped at the clinic, welcoming the patients and translating for an English doctor. Later I worked on an internet site to allow children from the Mission school to be sponsored; and I took care of the girls at the orphanage during the weekends. I have only one regret: to have left the Mission so soon. 

Je suis allée à Mouila durant quatre mois à la rentrée 2019 ; j’ai été accueillie comme dans une famille par toute la Mission Ste Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus. La Mission est bien développée puisque près de 60 gabonais y travaillent tous les jours, ce qui rend l’activité très vivante et l’immersion totale ! Entre la boulangerie, la menuiserie, l’atelier de couture, les chantiers, le dispensaire, l’école et l’orphelinat Maria Bambina, on ne peut pas s’ennuyer et il y en a pour tous les gouts. Pour ma part, j’ai d’abord aidé au dispensaire à l’accueil et à la traduction pour un médecin anglaise, j’ai ensuite travaillé sur un site internet permettant aux enfants de l’école d’être sponsorisés, et je m’occupais souvent des bambinettes le WE. Un seul regret : être partie trop tôt !
